Small groups are not a passing fad or ‘hip’ cliché. A small group exists in order for those who attend to learn about God, the Bible, and themselves. Small groups can, and often do, happen in a variety of settings. Small groups can happen in the church, at a restaurant, or in a person’s home (as long as that person has given permission!) Really, small groups can happen just about anywhere the group wants to, and is permitted to, meet.
Some common questions about small groups will be added below. Currently, there is only one question but more will be added soon. If you have any questions regarding small group ministries at BAC, please contact Pastor Smeal at pastor@brookvillealliancechurch.com.
What should I expect?
Expect to hear people discuss life-issues, Bible questions, and personal/family issues. The leader is not a teacher, but a facilitator, helping to keep the discussion centered on the subject at hand. The topics discussed depend on the small group and, of course, the participants of that group, but some of the topics you might hear addressed may include marriage, child raising, personal relationships, spirituality, prayer, Biblical content and applications, and other life-issues.
